Junior Counsellor Job Description

Employment Term: July 2 to July 31, 2026

Hours: Arrive at camp by Sunday at 11:00 am. Leave camp each Friday by approximately 5:00 pm.   

Requirements:

  • Minimum grade 10 education
  • Preference given to applicants 16 years or older
  • Experience working with children (preferably as a group volunteer)
  • First Aid + CPR Certification (available on hire for those without certification)
  • Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) & Vulnerable Sector Search upon offer of employment
  • Valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Job Description:

  • Assist Camp & Program Directors in carrying out Camp Mission
  • Carry out various aspects of the Camp Program confidently and independently
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of campers at all times
  • Assist in creating and maintaining an environment in which campers can experience positive social, emotional, and spiritual growth.
  • Exhibit responsible behaviour and be a good role model for campers practicing a Catholic Christian faith
  • Properly look after all art, craft, sport and camping equipment
  • Keep assigned dorms in a clean, orderly fashion
